WebKomputing's Awanee JCOS has been extended to support Global Platform specifications that specify an interoperable and secure environment for multiple applications developed by multiple issuers. The Global Platform specifications were initially developed by Visa and now have been transferred to an international standard organization to promote a global infrastructure for smart card deployment across multiple industries. Based on WebKomputing's Global Platform compliant OS, various smart card based security solutions can be easily developed using Java applets. WebKomputing has demonstrated Visa payment, PC logon, network and web sign in, file encryption, building access, password management and software license control, with further expansion to ePassport and digital right management.
