WebKomputing has spent 30 man-years in developing a Java CardTM compliant open OS with APIs supporting smart card applications in SIM, payment, security access, and Internet content distribution. WebKomputing's open OS supports a large variety of chips, which goes beyond most card vendors' canned solutions working only for specific chips. WebKomputing currently offers multiple versions of its open OS: Awanee 100, 110, 120, 200, 210, 220, and 230, which tailor to general smart card applications, 2G SIM, 3G USIM, and Visa payment.
Awanee Card Operating System
The WebKomputing Awanee operating system consists of a core Java virtual machine, a class of micro kernels and a series of APIs, which provides the flexibility to rapidly tailor the OS to application requirements and hardware configurations meeting the size, time, power and cost constraints.
The product follows the ISO 7816, Java CardTM, Global Platform, GSM and UMTS standards to ensure the applications delivered from different sources compatible and interoperable. This capability will allow card issuers to integrate multiple applications in a single card and introduce value-added services post issuance.
The available APIs will support a wide range of applications from authentication, identification, and payment, to loyalty programs, small cash, ticketing, medical data keeping, software protection and digital content management.
